Hey guys!

Thanks for the e-mails and everything, it’s good to see that everything’s going well. And to see my schedule; mom and Melissa, you did a very good job, thanks! Looking at the schedule makes me remember how much fun college is. Not that the mission’s not, mind you. Just to distract me. ;)

Things are just great here in Posse; this past week was transfer, but nothing changed around here. Elder Schendroski and I are still here in our solitary confinement. I’m glad, because we both really wanted to stay here and we want to keep going as companions, although the isolation does get to you. It’s been a month since we’ve seen any other missionaries, but we’re going to Brasilia next Thursday, so that should be a good time. Zone conference! Civilization! But we’re happy.

This past week wasn’t such a good one, as far as missionary work is concerned. Sometimes you do everything right (you think), and nothing turns out right. That was the case this week. But oh, well. That’s the way it is sometimes. It’s just a little trial of your faith, and then the miracles come.

So, word on the street is that up there in the states they caught a polygamist, right? Satan’s having a heyday with that here. From what we hear, all the reporters are reporting like this: “dissidents from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or the Mormons, have…” 50 million wives or whatever. Of course, no one who hasn’t read the Book of Mormon knows what the word “dissidents” means, and they say it so fast that, even if they knew, they wouldn’t hear it. It’s causing a few problems here, but it’s all just signs of the times. It’s given us a few problems, with people who refuse to accept the fact that they misunderstood the broadcast, or don’t seems to understand that the concept of a world-wide church having widespread polygamy is inconceivable [I do not think that word means what I think it means]. It’s rather frustrating, actually.

But it’s all good. We made a pass-along card for the cult, the fundamentalists or whatever. It’s the one of the family (dad, mom, and kid), but now it’s got a dad and 3 moms. Very cool. But if someone else sees it, we’ve in trouble. But I’ll show you when I get home.

Man, I’m running out of cool things to say…. We’re just working hard and things are going well enough, as long as you don’t measure work just by numbers. The work sometimes still gives that ‘pushing against a brick wall’ feeling, but what can you do? We’ll get there. If you’ve got any questions, let me know. FYI, we’ve got a cell phone here, so we’re all set for you to call me on May 11th ;). Was the phone bill at Christmas more expensive because you called a cell phone? In Brazil, it’s about 10 times more expensive to call a cell phone than a land line, but that’s not my fault. Anyway, thanks for everything! Love you!
